New ECA Fuels Barge for ExxonMobil in Singapore
Exxon Mobil Corp. (ExxonMobil) says it has taken delivery of a new 2,500 tonne barge, known as Ocean Pioneer, intended to deliver marine gas oil (MGO) in Singapore that is compliant with Emission Control Area (ECA) regulations.
The barge, said to be chartered from Sinanju Tankers Pte Ltd (Sinanju Tankers), is part of the company's expanded ECA compliant fuel offering, which includes includes ExxonMobil Premium HDME 50 and ExxonMobil Premium AFME 200.
"The move is in response to a growing demand amongst our customers for this sort of service," said Deepankar Banerjee, Asia Pacific Fuels Sale Manager, Aviation & Marine for ExxonMobil.
"Ocean Pioneer provides direct delivery of ECA-compliant MGO, ensuring additional reliability and convenience."
ExxonMobil, says it now offers MGO at more than 40 ports worldwide, and notes that it "will continue to expand its ECA compliant fuels offer in order to further help marine operators comply with legislation."
In March, ExxonMobil announced the release of ExxonMobil Premium Advanced Fuel Marine ECA 200 (AFME 200), its second specialist fuel for use within ECAs.
