Karachi Anchorage to Reopen for Bunker-Only Calls From Mid-September: Orion

Karachi's anchorage will reopen to bunker-only calls from mid-September as the monsoon season ends, physical supplier Orion Bunkers DMCC has told Ship & Bunker.
"Karachi anchorage opens mid-September for bunker-only calls, as the monsoon is over," said Zishan Arshad, director at Orion Bunkers DMCC.
"Buyers must appoint a local agent, and we will be ready to supply HSFO, VLSFO, and LSMGO."
The reopening means vessels will again be able to call at Karachi solely to take on bunkers, adding an anchorage option alongside Orion's in-port supply at Karachi and Port Muhammad Bin Qasim.
The full slate of product availability follows the supplier's recent resumption of HSFO deliveries in Pakistan, driven by demand from scrubber-fitted vessels trading between the Middle East, India, and the Far East.
Orion has been a physical bunker supplier in Pakistan since 2004 and operates a fleet of four company-owned barges.
Earlier this year the company completed Pakistan's largest single LSMGO delivery, supplying 1,000 mt to a dredger at Karachi.
