Vitol's New LNG Bunkering Vessel Set to Begin Operations Later This Year
Vitol Bunkers, the marine fuels trading unit of commodity trading giant Vitol Group, is set to begin operating a new LNG bunkering vessel later this year.
The Singapore-flagged 12,500 m3 vessel, Vivit Asai LNG, has completed its sea trials, the company shared in a LinkedIn post today.
The vessel was ordered by Vitol from CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering in China in 2024.
In July, Vitol Bunkers was among eight companies granted LNG bunkering licences to supply LNG as marine fuel in Singapore by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
The company’s LNG bunkering operations will be backed by a fully contracted regional supply chain and its global LNG portfolio.
Vitol also plans to expand its fleet of LNG bunkering vessels through 2027.
