Singapore Bunker Spill Containership to be Scrapped
Tuesday February 11, 2014
COSCON owned containership Fei He, which was recently involved in a collision and bunker spill in Singapore, is to be sold through a bidding process and scrapped, Sino Ship News reports.
Fei He sustained damage to one of her bunker tanks, which COSCON later described as partial damage in her portside hull, following a collision with the chemical tanker Lime Galaxy on January 29, 2014 about 2.7 km south of Jurong Island.
The 3,768 Panamax containership was built in 1994 by Germany's Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft (HDW), according to data compiled by online intelligence and information service VesselsValue.com, who currently value Fei He at $8.8 million.
