BW LNG Orders Two More Dual-Fuel LNG Ships at HD Hyundai Samho
BW LNG has ordered two additional dual-fuel LNG ships from South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Samho.
The two ships are scheduled for delivery in the second and third quarters of 2029, BW LNG said in a LinkedIn post on Thursday.
The latest order follows BW LNG’s earlier contract for two sister vessels placed in November 2025, which are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2028.
The ships will feature dual-fuel engines from WinGD.
“The vessels will feature the industry’s first large-scale three-tank design in LNG, offering increased cargo capacity and lower boil-off, whilst maintaining full operational flexibility, BW LNG said.
"The sister vessels will be equipped with the latest energy-efficient technologies, including XDF 2.2 propulsion with VCR, shaft generators and a full reliquefaction system, enabling the lowest fuel consumption and emissions in the market."
