New Hire in China, Far East Expansion for Bunker Detectives

The Bunker Detectives (BD) has announced a new hire in China as part of an expansion in the Far East, the company said in an emailed statement.

"Due to rapid growth and demand for bunker surveys in China as well as sludge disposal surveys, where we ensure only sludge is been disposed-off and not 'good' fuel, effective Jun 25, 2015 Capt. Zhuo Jie, an experienced Master Mariner by profession will be leading bunker survey operations in PRC/Hong Kong and S. Korea," the company said.

"Capt. Zhuo holds the highest rank of a Master Mariner in the mercantile marine industry and brings with him wealth of knowledge and expertise not only in bunker fraud prevention but also marine surveying activities from cargo damage claims to ship inspection, Port State Control inspections, P&I surveys, accident investigations, and marine cargo surveying and claims.

"Capt. Zhuo's inclusion in our team will not only strengthen our presence in this region but his deep understanding of the Chinese marine market will be beneficial to our organization."

In addition, Abdul Farhan, BD's Chief Surveyor in Singapore has been promoted to Director Operations and will be assisted by the company's Technical Manager Mr. Stanley Kwok.

In other developments, BD reiterated its commitment to International Standard ISO/IE 17020:2012 and Singapore Standard SS 600:2008 Code of Practice for Bunkering and says it will adopt the same code and standards on a global basis.
