EU Hydrogen Funding Round Includes Maritime Projects
The European Commission has selected two Norway-based hydrogen projects linked to the maritime sector under the third auction of the European Hydrogen Bank.
The projects, Gen2-LH2 and RogalandH2, were chosen under a dedicated maritime and aviation category for hydrogen producers supplying those sectors, the EC said in an announcement on Friday.
Gen2-LH2, developed by Norway’s Gen2 Energy AS, is expected to produce 17,886 mt of hydrogen over 10 years, while RogalandH2, coordinated by Norwegian hydrogen company GREEN H AS, is expected to produce 17,700 mt.
The projects will receive production-based subsidies of €3.48/kg and €3.49/kg, respectively.
Overall, the Commission selected nine hydrogen projects across seven European countries, allocating around €1.09 billion from the EU Innovation Fund.
