Malta-based commodity trading firm Alkagesta has completed its first truck-to-ship bunkering operation in Constanta, Romania.

The company supplied a total of 50.16 mt of marine gasoil to a vessel using two trucks on October 2, it said in a press release issued yesterday.

Alkagesta added that the operation extends its distribution capabilities across Romanian and Black Sea markets.

“The ConstanČ›a operation adds truck-to-vessel delivery to Alkagesta’s distribution capabilities in Romania — a market that has played an increasingly important role in the company’s regional petroleum products and biofuels activities throughout 2026,” the company noted.

Alkagesta operates across Europe and other international markets, trading petroleum products, marine fuels, biofuels, fertilisers and steel.

In August, the company added European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) allowances to its carbon trading offering.

Its trading unit in Singapore also achieved monthly marine fuel trading volumes of 200,000-250,000 mt in its first year of operations.

Group trading volumes increased from about 5.2 million mt in 2023 to more than 8.7 million mt in 2025, according to the company.
