Dutch emissions reducing specialist Value Maritime will retrofit two vessels operated by Greek shipping firm Neptune Lines with scrubber systems designed to allow future integration of carbon capture technology.

Two 15 MW Filtree systems will be installed on the pure car and truck carriers Neptune Tharros and Neptune Ethos, Value Maritime said in an email statement on Thursday.

According to Value Maritime, this will be the first installation of its technology in the pure car and truck carrier segment.

The systems are designed to reduce sulfur oxide and particulate matter emissions while allowing future integration of onboard carbon capture technology.

Installations are planned for summer 2026 in the Mediterranean.

“Partnering with Value Maritime allows us to implement a practical and future-ready solution that reduces emissions while maintaining operational efficiency,” George Kriezis, Technical Director at Neptune Lines.
