TNPA Invites Bids for Cape Town Liquid Bulk Terminal With Bunkering Services
South Africa’s Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) has launched a tender process to appoint an operator for a liquid bulk terminal at the Port of Cape Town under a 25-year concession agreement.
The selected operator will be responsible for financing, operating, maintaining, refurbishing and potentially constructing infrastructure at the site, including bunkering and related services, according to an RFP issued by TNPA on Thursday on its website.
The existing brownfield facility includes eight storage tanks with a combined storage capacity of about 44,430 m3, as well as a warehouse and administration building.
The site also connects to Tanker Basin 1 and Tanker Basin 2, supporting refinery supply and bunker fuel imports.
TNPA said the project is intended to maintain and strengthen liquid bulk operations at the port while improving infrastructure utilisation through private sector participation.
