Spain’s SUARDIAZ Group said its marine fuels arm SUARDIAZ Energy has signed an agreement to make the recently acquired chemical tanker RS Onza available to energy firm Moeve.

The IMO2 chemical tanker was recently delivered to SUARDIAZ in Singapore and is already operating for Moeve in European ports, mainly in Spain, the company said in a press release on Thursday.

It can supply methanol to ships.

“The RS Onza is equipped with the latest technology for the transport and delivery of new fuels,” Fernando Barreras, director of SUARDIAZ Energy, said.

“This agreement with SUARDIAZ is another step forward in Moeve’s roadmap to drive the decarbonisation of maritime transport,” Samir Fernandez, Director of Marine Solutions & Trading at Moeve, said.

Moeve supplies bunker fuel at ports including Algeciras, Las Palmas, Barcelona, and other locations, according to the firm’s website.
