Saudi Arabia-based The Biofuel Company of Saudi Arabia (TBFCO) has signed an exclusive partnership with Qatar’s Kingdom Konsult to develop the B100 biofuel market in Qatar.

The partnership will focus on introducing B100 across Qatar and developing commercial opportunities for the fuel, according to an emailed press release yesterday.

Kingdom Konsult will lead market development, stakeholder engagement and commercial opportunities, while TBFCO will provide B100 supply, technical support and product documentation.

The companies will target sectors including transport and logistics, industrial operations, infrastructure, construction, hospitality and major events. They also plan to explore pilot projects and commercial-scale deployments.

The bunker industry is also among the potential areas of interest for TBFCO as it develops the Qatar market.

“We have been fortunate to be able to bunker pure B100 in marine vessels in Saudi Arabia and our senior management team have been involved in every biofuel bunker in the UAE, since the first one back in 2020, so yes, the bunker industry is absolutely one of the industries we are very keen to support,” a TBFCO company representative told Ship & Bunker.

TBFCO is based in Jubail Industrial City and specialises in producing B100 from used cooking oil to EN14214 standards. It has a monthly production capacity of 3,000 tonnes, according to the company.
