Sing Fuels Pte Ltd. (Sing Fuels) has announced that, effective today, the company has begun bunker operations in West Africa, including Nigeria.

"There's a lot of potential in this market. The existing services offered in Africa currently are not sufficient to cover the entire market. So, it's a great opportunity for us to venture in," said Satnam Singh, Sing Fuels' Director.

In June, Sing Fuels' General Manager Jeremy Long told Ship & Bunker that the company was eyeing expansion into new niche global markets, including Africa and Latin America.

"To broaden our global reach, Sing Fuels is exploring the possibility of starting offices in niche markets like Africa," said Long at the time.

"Endless effort and prime resources are continuously deployed to develop important markets like Latin America."

Sing Fuels notes that it is targeting a 20 percent year-on-year growth rate in its marine fuel sales during 2017.

Ship & Bunker recently talked to Long to learn more about the company's history and vision for the future; the full interview can be viewed here.
