Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) Tuesday announced the appointment of Paul Parkinson as Group Business Development Manager for Oil Condition Monitoring.

"We are extremely pleased to have Paul join VPS. Paul brings an exceptional combination of in-depth OCM Testing and Tribology knowledge, plus broad industry experience in inspection, testing and certification," said Group Commercial & New Business Development Director, Steve Bee.

VPS said Parkinson was a senior executive "with a proven track-record of successful achievement in business development."

He previously spent over over ten years as the Managing Director at SGS Vernolab UK Ltd and led this specialist business through significant growth, before moving on to be part of the SGS UK management team, responsible for managing their oil and fuel laboratories, most notably the refinery laboratory on the Essar Stanlow site.

"I am really looking forward to this new and exciting opportunity. It allows me to use my expertise and experience working closely with customers and staff to further develop the VPS global OCM service," said Parkinson.

The appointment follows that of well known industry veteran Ian Workman, who in March joined VPS' Americas team as Sales Manager for the U.S. Northeast Region.

Earlier this year VPS also welcomed Vernon Jayanathan as New Business Development Manager.
