Monjasa Makes First Bunker Delivery to New Terminal at Skagen
Monjasa Group's bunker tanker has made its first fuel delivery for its new oil terminal and storage facility at the Port of Skagen in Denmark, the company announced.
The company said that all system tests had gone according to plan and that ex-pipe bunkering of all grades would be available at the port by November 2015.
"Harsh weather conditions no longer represent a refuelling challenge," the company said.
"Taking bunkers in port in Skagen is a new and convenient opportunity for most vessel types as the terminal has 11m draft and 330m LOA and can accommodate vessels of up to 250kt dead weight."
Monjasa added that 61,000 vessels pass through the north of Denmark every year, which makes it a strategic location for the company.
Last week, Ship & Bunker reported that Monjasa is partnering with former Nordic Bulk Carriers CEO Christian Bonfils to establish a new company called First Arctic.
