Bunker Partner Hires New Group Risk Officer
Marine fuels firm Bunker Partner has appointed a new group risk officer in Dubai.
Christopher Stephen Morgan has joined the firm as group risk officer as of this month, he told Ship & Bunker on Monday.
Morgan joins Bunker Partner after three years as credit manager at Shipergy in Dubai.
His move follows marine fuel supplier and trading firm Propeller Fuels’ acquisition of Shipergy’s business, with the latter’s trading operations, client relationships and technology transferred to Propeller on October 1.
Morgan has almost 25 years of experience in shipping and bunkering, including senior credit roles at Delta Energy Fuel Supply & Trading, GP Global Group, Cockett Marine Oil, Monjasa, Peninsula Petroleum and World Fuel Services.
“I'll be working hard on further strengthening supplier and industry relationships and managing the group's risk verticals across compliance, legal and credit," he said.
“It goes without saying that it is a huge honour to be the one Bunker Partner wanted to bring in to fulfil this brand new management role and I am absolutely delighted to be here."
“It is a very exciting new challenge to not be involved in the day-to-day credit, compliance and legal functions any more as I've been used to, but to harmonise, optimise and assist in all three functions and to help make a strong team even better.”
