Fratelli Cosulich Methanol-Ready Bunker Tanker Launched in China
Global marine fuel supplier Fratelli Cosulich has announced the launch of its new methanol-ready bunker tanker in China.
The IMO type II bunker tanker, Carlotta Cosulich, was launched at Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipyard in China, Fratelli Cosulich said in a LinkedIn post today.
The vessel is the third of a four-vessel series.
In May, Fratelli Cosulich took delivery of another methanol-ready tanker, Anna Cosulich, for deployment in Singapore.
The methanol-ready notation indicates the ship has been designed to allow future conversion to methanol propulsion.
While such notations are becoming more common, actual conversions remain rare across the industry.
“Designed with MarineLINE-coated cargo tanks and methanol readiness from the outset, Carlotta Cosulich combines operational flexibility with future-fuel readiness,” the company said.
