KR Seeks Feedback on Classification Rules for Low-Flashpoint Fuel Ships
Korean Register (KR) is seeking industry feedback on proposed amendments to its classification rules and guidance, including requirements for ships using low-flashpoint fuels.
The proposed revisions form part of KR’s work to update its classification technical rules and include amendments to part 8 of the rules and guidance and part 9 of the guidance, according to a notice published Thursday.
KR is also proposing changes to its Guidance for Ships Using Low-flashpoint Fuels and its Guidance for Prevention Systems of Pollution from Ships.
The classification society said the revisions are being developed to reflect the latest technology and customer requirements.
Interested parties have until September 7 to submit comments on the proposed amendments to KR’s Machinery Rule Development Team.
