Russia's Gazprom and Japan's Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Mitsui) Tuesday held a working meeting in Moscow to discuss further steps under the companies' Agreement of Strategic Cooperation, which includes support for the development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering.

The meeting was attended by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Tatsuo Yasunaga, Representative Director, CEO of Mitsui.

"The meeting addressed the ongoing and future partnership between the companies," explained Gazprom, noting that "particular attention was paid to the progress in the construction of the third train of the Sakhalin II LNG plant and the prospects for cooperation on small- and mid-scale LNG.

As Ship & Bunker reported in September, Gazprom signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mitsui to cooperate on feasibility and marketing studies related to LNG bunkering in Russia's Far East and the Asia-Pacific region.
