Ardmore Takes Delivery of Eco-Vessel

Ardmore Shipping Corporation has taken delivery of another eco-friendly product and chemical tanker, the company has announced

The 25,000 DWT Ardmore Chinook is reportedly the third of four newbuilds being delivered from Japan-based Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co. Ltd this year.

According to the company, the eco-deisgn vesssel is equipped with fuel-saving technology such as the Skysails vessel optimisation software.

"The addition of the Ardmore Chinook realises our continued commitment to building a fleet of modern, fuel efficient and high quality vessels," said COO Mark Cameron.

"We wish the Ardmore Chinook and her crew 'fair winds and following seas' as she goes on to fulfill her long and successful service within the Ardmore fleet."

The addition reportedly raises the company's fleet to 21, which combined have an average age of under four-and-a-half years. 

Earlier this year, the company also took delivery of the Ardmore Seafox from South Korea's SPP Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
