Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) provided an update on work to develop emergency guidelines for incidents involving alternative fuels.

The initiative is being led by MPA, with contributions from port authorities in Belgium, Spain, South Korea, the UK and Japan, MPA said in a social media post yesterday.

The guidelines are intended to help ports prepare for and respond to incidents involving alternative fuels.

The roundtable also covered digitalisation and port resilience.

MPA and the Port of Rotterdam Authority, which jointly lead a separate working group, shared progress on common vessel data requirements and API specifications to improve information exchange between ports.

Pilbara Ports hosted PAR2026, which brought together representatives from 22 port authorities.

The initiative was launched by MPA in 2015, with the next meeting scheduled to take place in Tangier, Morocco, in 2027.
