Dry bulk player Star Bulk Carriers Corp. [NASDAQ:SBLK] (Star Bulk) Monday announced that it has signed an agreement to sell 181,433 DWT M/V Obelix to an unaffiliated third party for $23.3 million.

The vessel is said to be expected for delivery to its new owners during the first half of 2016.

The sale follows Star Bulk last month selling four newbuilding Capesize vessels

The proceeds from the sale of the Capesize vessel will go toward paying down outstanding debt related to the vessel, says Star Bulk, noting that the remainder of the proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, such as capital expenditures.

In January, Star Bulk announced that it had received a letter notifying the company that it had failed to meet the NASDAQ Global Select Market minimum bid price requirement, and would be delisted if compliance was not regained.
