Peninsula Launches Physical Bunker Supply at Mauritania
Global marine fuel supplier Peninsula has launched a new physical supply operation in Mauritania in West Africa.
The company has secured a license from Mauritania’s National Hydrocarbons Commission to operate as a physical supplier in the country, it said in a LinkedIn post on Friday.
The operation has approval for up to three bunker barges, with Peninsula currently operating two barges capable of supplying fuel oil and LSMGO in line with ISO 8217:2022 specifications.
“Further to the recent tender process, Peninsula is the first company to secure a licence to operate physically in the market,” it said.
Minerva also announced last week the start of the Mauritania physical supply operation. The company will operate two bunker barges, with supply coming from the company’s hub in Las Palmas.
