StormGeo Adds Ship Sensor Data to Voyage Intelligence Platform
Voyage optimisation firm StormGeo has added ship sensor data to its voyage intelligence platform through a new integration with parent company Alfa Laval.
The solution combines real-time engine and hull data with weather, route optimisation, voyage planning, emissions reporting and bunker-related information in a single platform, it said in an email statement on Monday.
The companies said the integration is designed to give ship operators better visibility into vessel performance and support more informed operational decisions.
“The goal is to provide a comprehensive, integrated solution for shipping companies to simplify data collection and harvest more value by using actionable insights from sensor data to enable faster and better-informed voyage decision-making,” Petter Andersen, VP Shipping at StormGeo, said.
"Continuous real-time monitoring helps transform sensor and performance data into smarter operational decisions.”
According to the company, the initial focus is on improving voyage efficiency and monitoring fuel consumption, while future applications could include automated reporting and condition-based maintenance.
