Wärtsilä Corporation says it will supply an integrated solution including power, navigation, and electrical systems for a new multipurpose support vessel (MPSV) being built for Harvey Gulf International Marine LLC (Harvey Gulf).

"Wärtsilä is unparalleled in being a total solutions provider to the marine industry, and this important contract re-emphasises this fact," said Magnus Miemois, vice president of Wärtsilä Ship Power Solutions.

"Our unique combination of product solutions, leading technologies, and global experience as a systems integrator enables us to optimize the operational, environmental and economic performance of the vessel."

The contract includes the engines, a Wärtsilä Control & Communication Centre (3C) integrated bridge, navigation, and communication control system, and a complete electrical and automation system, and Wärtsilä will also integrate the systems and submit documentation required for classification society approval.

The contract also includes an option for the supply of equipment to two additional vessels in the series, which Eastern Shipbuilding Group Inc., of Panama City, Florida is building for Harvey Gulf.

Wärtsilä will also provide servicing for six LNG-fuelled offshore supply vessels (OSVs) and up to three MPSVs under a five-year service agreement.

Wärtsilä has supplied a number of systems for Harvey Gulf, which is working to improve the fuel efficiency and environmental profile of its fleet.
