Power LNG Secures Land Deal for Galveston LNG Bunkering Project
Power LNG LLC has secured approval for a land lease and development deal to build an LNG production and bunkering facility on Pelican Island at Galveston in Texas, US.
The Galveston Wharves Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the agreement on October 8, it said in an announcement on Thursday.
In August, Mexican LNG infrastructure company Ernestas announced a strategic partnership with Power LNG to develop LNG infrastructure, including bunkering at the Port of Galveston.
"The 30-acre greenfield development will be located on the east side of an approximately 82-acre, port-owned tract on the deep-water Galveston," the board said.
The facility is planned to include small-scale, modular LNG production, storage and fuel bunkering infrastructure.
Energy firm Stabilis Solutions is also developing an LNG bunkering facility in Galveston with operations expected to begin in Q3 2028.
