Vane Line Bunkering Wins $13.1M Government Contract
Baltimore, Maryland based Vane Line Bunkering, Inc. has been awarded a $13.1 million government contract to provide a dedicated fuel barge in the Atlantic region, a notice on U.S. government's Federal Business Opportunities website has shown.
Awarded on January 31, 2013, the agreement will consist of a 10-month base period and two one-year option periods.
The contact calls the transportation of all required Department of Defense-owned bulk jet fuel (JP5 and JP8), marine diesel (F76) and commercial (Jet-A) by tug and barge between all ordered U.S. ports and points on inland waterways throughout the region.
Vane Line Bunkering, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of The Vane Brothers Company, which according to its website has served the maritime industry in the Port of Baltimore and the U.S. Eastern Seaboard for more than 100 years.
It says it currently has a fleet of of 30 tugs and 45 barges.
