CCNI Purchases Two Tankers from Singapore Shipper
Chile’s Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica (CCNI) has bought two 50,000 DWT tankers from Norden Shipping (Singapore) Pte.Ltd, World Maritime News reports.
The two ships were bought for $36.5 million each, though further details about the vessels were undisclosed.
According to CCNI, the two ships will be leased to Empresa Nacional del Petroleo (ENAP) for five years to transport petroleum products and derivatives.
The company also recently signed a deal with Hamburg Süd, which upon approval will see the German carrier operate some main trade routes in CCNI's container liner business.
Last year, Hamburg Süd also signed another cooperation agreement with United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), a deal that gave the company a foothold in the Ocean Three alliance.
