Further Gains for Bunker Prices in Asia

Bunker prices in Asia continued to trend upwards on Thursday, Ship & Bunker data showed, with IFO380 in Singapore and Busan making gains for a seventh consecutive market day.

Singapore IFO380 climbed $5.50 to $638.00 per metric tonne (pmt), making a week-on-week gain of $22.00, and a month-on-month gain of $40.50. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) rose $24.00 to $723.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $85.00 pmt. MGO climbed $4.00 to $950.00 pmt, moving up $13.00 from last Thursday.

Busan IFO380 moved up $5.00 to $667.50 pmt, rising $16.50 from this time last week, and $22.50 higher than December 10, 2012. LS380 rose $36.00 to $833.00 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $165.50 pmt. MGO climbed $4.50 to $979.00 pmt, up $9.00 week-on-week.

Hong Kong IFO380 rose $4.00 to $649.50 pmt, gaining $21.00 week-on-week, and up $35.50 from December 10, 2012. MGO in Hong Kong was up $4.50 to $971.50 pmt, climbing $12.50 from this time last week.

Tokyo IFO380 moved up $0.50 to $674.00 pmt, $23.50 higher than last Thursday, and gaining $27.50 month-on-month. MDO in the port moved up $1.50 to $963.00 pmt, moving up $2.50 week-on-week.
