Filipino shipowner Chelsea Logistics Corp (CLC) is set to acquire a tanker with a capacity of 45,000 to 55,000 litres of bunkers, TradeWinds reports.

Newly listed on the Philippines Stock Exchange, CLC is reported to be working to acquire the tanker in addition to other shipping equipment, port facilities, containers, and terminal equipment.

"Chelsea needs ports. If there's opportunity in expanding ports, domestic ports, we might take a look at it... nationwide," said Dennis Uy, CLC's chairman and owner.

CLC is reported to be aiming to expand its services within Southeast Asia, particularly those related to petroleum shipping and RoRo services.

Currently, CLC's fleet includes 59 vessels - said to be the Philippines' largest.
