Sea Trader International Expands Bunker Business With New South Korea Operation
Hong Kong-based Sea Trader International Ltd (Sea Trader) has expanded its business in South Korea with the opening of a new office in Seoul, the bunker player has told Ship & Bunker.
Sea Trader said the move will allow it to enhance the development of its bunkers and cargo business, as well as help build its direct contract business with Korean shipping companies and local refineries, strengthening its relationship and supply network.
Effective July 1, 2016, Mr. Bryan Park has been appointed as Representative in the new Seoul office, while Mr. Jin koo Kim has been appointed as Sales Manager.
Park was said to have wide experience in vessel operations, FFA (Forward Freight Agreements) trading, and dry bulk market research, having previously had a shipping career with Hyundai Merchant Marine between 2007 and 2014, and Hyundai Corporation in 2014.
Mr. Jin koo Kim was said to have begun his career in September 2011 working for CMA CGM Korea, before moving to Maersk Line Korea in August, 2013, and most recently, since August 2014, he worked in bunker procurement for Eukor Car Carrier.
"His experience on marketing and procurement will strengthen our relationship with shipping companies and suppliers in Korea," said Sea Trader.
"In view of their vast shipping and bunker experience, it is a great advantage on developing our own presence in established markets while driving further growth in Korea."
