ExxonMobil Expands ECA Complaint MGO Supply to Port of Le Havre
ExxonMobil Marine Fuels & Lubricants has expanded the availability of its 0.10% maximum sulfur content marine gas oil (MGO) for Emission Control Area (ECA) compliance to the Port of Le Havre, the company announced in an emailed release.
The MGO is available at the French port as of January 1, 2015, with ExxonMobil the first supplier to make the product available through barge deliveries at the port.
"We have increased the availability of MGO to help marine operators comply with the new ECA legislation," said Luca Volta, general manager for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
"In addition, by offering MGO at Le Havre via barge delivery, marine operators will benefit from a faster and more efficient fuel delivery process."
Last year the company launched its low-sulfur HDME 50 fuel for ECA compliance, and this month expanded the product's supply into Germany.
