Danish Maritime Industry Launches Collaboration to Improve Access To EU Funding
Denmark’s maritime industry is launching a new partnership aimed at helping companies access EU funding for maritime projects.
Danish Maritime and Danish Shipping, together with non-profit maritime innovation platform ShippingLab, are setting up a platform to match industry needs and expertise with relevant EU funding opportunities, Danish Maritime said in an announcement yesterday.
The initiative will provide early screening of project ideas and funding calls, while helping companies improve applications and form partnerships for European projects.
ShippingLab will be responsible for building the necessary capacity and working with relevant authorities and industry stakeholders.
The partnership is supported by the Danish Maritime Fund and will also organise partnership summits to bring together companies and other maritime stakeholders.
The first two summits will be held on October 20 in the Copenhagen area and November 11 in Jutland, focusing on electrification and energy efficiency, as well as decarbonisation and carbon capture.
The initiative follows recommendations from Denmark’s Growth Team for Blue Denmark in 2025 to improve access to financing and increase the amount of EU maritime funding secured by Danish stakeholders.
