CYE Petrol Wins Turkey's Best Bunker Company Award
Istanbul-based CYE Petrol has won the "Best Bunker Company" award at the 10th Golden Anchor International Maritime Achievement Awards, which were held this last weekend at Sheraton Istanbul, Atakoy, the bunker supplier has announced in an emailed statement.
This is the first year that the bunker industry award has been given, which was judged by an 18 member panel from throughout the Turkish maritime industry.
"We are a quality oriented physical bunker supplier. We don't focus on high volume or lowest price. Our prices are not the lowest, but not highest as well. Shipowners are receiving the quality and quantity they request from a market price," said CYE Petrol General Manager Deniz Eraydin.
"They should consider this as the best price. For sure we are offering the best price as USD/calorie."
"Quality bunker product bought from a market price has more advantages such as less maintenance and lower spare part expenses. With this "total quality policy" we brought bunker business to the next level."
CYE Petrol says it is the only physical bunker supplier operating in Turkish ports to be using Emerson Coriolis Mass Flow Meters for bunker supplies, which it first introduced in May of last year.
Other practices the supplier noted it applies include MARPOL ANNEX VI supply procedures and documentations, supplying with "new generation" double hull bunker barges, guaranteeing ISO 8217:2012(E) for all bunker products and grades, and offering 90 days minimum for "quality claims."
In December last year CYE Petrol launched its second bunker barge fitted with a Mass Flow Meter (MFM) system.
