Bunker Storage Tank Considered at Russian Facility
A new St. Petersburg marine complex is looking into adding a bunker storage tank at the suggestion of bunkering companies operating in the area, Russian news site IAA Port News reports.
The Marine Multipurpose Complex Bronka (MMPK Bronka), being built on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, will include a container terminal, a Ro-Ro terminal, and a logistics center and will be capable of handling Panamax containerships and Finnstar ferries.
Aleksey Shukletsov, executive director of Fenix LLC, which is investing in the facility, said two bunkering companies are expected to provide bunkering services there.
MMPK Bronka will be paid for with private investment of almost RUB 43.7 billion ($1.3 billion), plus RUB 15.2 billion ($439 million) in funding from the Russian government.
Earlier this spring, Neftechim-Bunker CJSC put a new bunker tanker into service at St. Petersburg.
