Scorpio Bulkers is continuing to grow its order book, saying Monday it has ordered three Capesize dry bulk vessels from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. ("DSME") for a total price of $162 million.

The 180,000 deadweight-tonne (dwt) ships will be built at the shipbuilder's Romanian subsidiary facility, Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries S.A., with delivery of two vessels planned for the fourth quarter of 2015 and the third in the first quarter of 2016.

The company announced an order for 10 dry bulk vessels from Chinese shipyards earlier this month, which brought its total orders from Chinese and Japanese shipyards to 36 ships.

Scorpio Bulkers, founded this summer, is a sister company of Scorpio Tankers, which has ordered a number of fuel-efficient newbuilds over the last year.
