Supplier Says Mass Flow Meters Could Boost its Delivery Capacity by 50%
The installation of mass flow meters may increase CYE Petrol (CYE)'s capacity for fuel delivery by 50 percent or more, the company's general manager said in a statement from Emerson Process Management, which is supplying the meters.
"CYE Petrol is continually looking for ways to increase the already high standards of our bunkering procedures and technologies," said Managing Director Deniz Eraydin.
"Emerson's Certified Bunker Measurement Solution supports this objective by promoting the reputation and integrity of our quality and service in a highly competitive market.
"In addition, by reducing measurement uncertainty and the resultant disputes that can delay deliveries, our potential capacity may be increased from 15,000-20,000 tonnes/month to 25,000-30,000 tonnes per month."
Emerson mass flow meters will be installed first on the company's new Kalamis-E and Beykoz-E bunker barges, and its other four bunker barges will be retrofitted with the meters over the next 18 months.
The Emerson system includes a Micro Motion ELITE High Capacity Coriolis flowmeter, Series 3000 transmitter with Marine Bunker Transfer Package application software, and a printer that generates a receipt that can be used as a legal weights and measures document.
"We want to be able to offer our customers a new level of accuracy," Eraydin said.
"The real-time and certified Heavy Fuel Oil and Marine Gas Oil bunker measurements provided by Emerson's Certified Bunker Measurement Solution will help improve our overall operational efficiency and raise customer confidence in the quality of our deliveries."
CYE, which serves the Istanbul and Izmit bay areas and ports in the Black Sea and Sea of Marmara, has said the meter installation on the Beykoz-E represents a first for Turkey.
