Corvus to Supply Battery Systems for Two New Scylla River Cruise Vessels
Maritime technology firm Corvus Energy has secured a contract to supply battery energy storage systems for two new Scylla Shipping river cruise vessels, Riviera Reflection and Harmonie.
The vessels will be fitted with Corvus' Orca battery systems, allowing them to operate emission-free for short periods when entering and berthing in ports, the firm said in a statement on its website on Thursday.
The batteries will also support lock and canal operations while helping reduce fuel consumption and engine running hours.
The contract was signed at the Advanced Maritime Technology exhibition in Amsterdam.
The latest deal brings the number of Scylla vessels equipped with Corvus battery systems to 15.
