Seascale Energy, the marine fuels joint venture set up by commodities firm Cargill and tanker company Hafnia, has entered a knowledge partnership with Lloyd's Register Advisory to strengthen its expertise in shipping decarbonisation.

Since launching in May 2025, Seascale has facilitated fuel transactions involving LNG, biofuels and green methanol, Seascale Energy said in a statement on its website on Thursday.

In February, Seascale Energy arranged a green methanol stem for a Cargill-chartered bulk carrier.

As part of the partnership, LR Advisory recently held workshops for Seascale teams in Geneva and Singapore covering low-carbon fuels, FuelEU Maritime, EU ETS and IMO decarbonisation measures.

The sessions also examined biofuels, emissions accounting, compliance requirements and the commercial implications of alternative fuels.

The companies are also exploring customer webinars and market-focused sessions on fuel procurement and emissions regulations.
