Danish-owned bunkering company Monjasa DMCC will use the GL ShipManager system to improve efficiency of its ship management practices, DNV GL has announced.

"GL ShipManager will provide them with the right foundation to manage every aspect of their shipping activities, increasing efficiency and transparency and giving them the systems to scale up as they grow," said Sebastian Eggert, DNV GL account manager.

Monjasa operates 18 vessels and delivers bunker fuel and lubricants worldwide.

The GL ShipManager software, an integrated system for technical management, procurement, quality safety management, and crewing, synchronises onboard and onshore information and can interface with accounting and document management systems.

"We need to be ready to go into action anywhere in the world at a moment's notice, delivering the right product at the right place at the agreed time," said Igor Bondar, technical manager of Monjasa DMCC.

"GL ShipManager allows us to optimally utilise our flat organization and network of offices around the world, by making sure that we have the right information to hand wherever we need it."

Monjasa announced in August that it had hired three traders in its U.S. office and said it plans more growth in 2014.
