MOL Names LNG Dual-Fuel VLCC for Equinor
Japanese shipping firm MOL has named a new LNG dual-fuel VLCC for Norwegian energy firm Equinor.
The Tsurugidake was named at Dalian Cosco KHI Ship Engineering Co and is the fourth LNG dual-fuel VLCC delivered by the MOL Group, MOL said in an announcement on Friday.
The vessel is the third LNG dual-fuel VLCC delivered by MOL to Equinor under a time charter, following two earlier vessels.
It is fitted with an LNG fuel tank with a capacity of more than 10,000 m3, allowing it to undertake long-distance voyages with greater operational flexibility.
“The vessel features a dedicated onboard relaxation space called IKOI, designed as a "third place" separate from both living quarters and work areas,” MOL said.
“Equipped with a theater room and a swimming pool, IKOI helps create a comfortable and stress-free environment for seafarers during extended voyages.”
