Dan Bunkering, BIMCO, Hafnia Team Up to Talk Legal Risks in Bunkering
BIMCO Monday announced that it, along with Dan Bunkering and Danish law firm Hafnia Advokatfirma (Hafnia), will be hosting a series of free seminars that will cover ways to manage legal risks in bunkering.
The first of the series of hour-long seminars will take place in London on April 27, notes BIMCO, while the second will be held in Hamburg on April 28, with additional seminars planned for May in Athens, Rotterdam, Geneva, and Oslo.
BIMCO says the agenda of the first two sessions will include:
- The bunker industry anno 2016, featuring Henrik Zederkof of Dan-Bunkering
- Counterparty risk in bunkering, featuring Mathias Steinø of Hafnia
- BIMCO Terms 2015 Standard Bunker Contract – harmonised terms for buyers, suppliers and traders, featuring Anna Wollin of BIMCO
The seminars will run from 3 p.m. to about 5 p.m., says BIMCO, noting that the events will be followed by drinks, snacks, and an opportunity for networking.
The organisation notes that the London seminar will be held at West of England P&I Club at Tower Bridge Court, 226 Tower Bridge Road, while the Hamburg seminar will be held at Verband Deutscher Reeder (VDR), Burchardstr. 24.
BIMCO says further details on Athens, Rotterdam, Geneva, and Oslo seminars will be published on the BIMCO website soon.
At the beginning of March, Ship & Bunker reported that, in light of news of the expedited final hearing of the so-called Res Cogitans OW Bunker test case, BIMCO issued guidance on bunker contract amendments for those operating within the industry.
