With the performance of bunker company the Bomin Group falling "short of expectations," parent company Mabanaft GmbH & Co. KG (Mabanaft) says it is reorganising its management, and Managing Director Peter Schreiber is leaving the company.

Mabanaft said that "owing to differences of opinion regarding the company's future direction," Schreiber, who worked for Bomin for more than 15 years, is leaving "with immediate effect."

"Mabanaft would like to thank him for all his efforts during this time," the company said.

Bomin will now focus on optimising its core business, improving customer orientation, and collaborating with Mabanaft.

Julio Tellechea, managing director of Mabanaft, will temporarily fill Schreiber's role, working with present Managing Director Thomas Roller to run Bomin's business until a permanent replacement is chosen.

Mabanaft completed its acquisition of Bomin, then known as the Bominflot Group, in 2012, creating what the companies called "one of the world's largest bunker companies."

At the time, Schreiber was named as CEO of the Bomin Group.

The company announced in January of this year that it was reorganising Bomin's management structure, with Schreiber taking charge of international trading, the Americas, the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Far East, while Roller took responsibility for North West Europe, finance and administration, risk management, organization and integration issues.
