Daphne Emissions Monitoring System Gains Lloyd's Register Validation
Daphne Technology's PureMetrics emissions monitoring system has received validation from Lloyd's Register following an assessment of its design and emissions calculation methodology.
Lloyd's Register issued a Factual Statement confirming the system is suitable for direct monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions from marine diesel engines, the two firms said in an email update on Thursday.
The system provides real-time measurements of emissions including CO2 and methane, helping shipowners track engine emissions and meet reporting requirements.
The appraisal was based on documentation reviews and onboard tests.
It follows a Statement of Compliance issued by DNV earlier this year and comes as methane reporting requirements become increasingly important for LNG-fuelled and dual-fuel vessels.
"Receiving the Lloyd's Register Factual Statement marks another step in the independent validation of PureMetrics™ as a credible basis for direct emissions reporting," Ivan Raleff, Managing Director of Daphne Technology SA, said.
