Bunker Prices Continue To Fall in North America
Bunker prices in most of North America were down today, with a few ports on the West Coast the only real exceptions. South America's Pacific coast also saw some downward movement.
Houston IFO380 moved down $4.50 to $605.00 per metric tonne (pmt), the same price as last Thursday, and up $6.50 from last month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) dropped $5.50 to $704.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $99.00 pmt. MGO in the port dropped $6.50 to $999.50 pmt, falling $7.00 week-on-week, and down $43.00 over the past three months.
New York IFO380 fell $3.00 to $613.00 pmt, dropping $6.50 from last week, and losing $7.00 from the price on November 6, 2012. LS380 was down $16.50 to $677.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $64.50 pmt. MGO fell $2.00 to $1035.00 pmt, slipping $6.00 week-on-week, and up $30.50 from last month.
New Orleans IFO380 dropped $3.00 to $626.00 pmt, gaining $4.50 from last Thursday, and up $19.00 since November 6, 2012. LS380 moved up $1.50 to $727.50 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $101.50 pmt. MGO in New Orleans fell for a third consecutive day slipping $0.50 to $1010.00 pmt making the price $4.00 higher than last week.
LA / Long Beach IFO380 moved up for the first time since November 26, 2012 climbing $3.00 to $615.50 pmt, down $52.00 week-on-week, and $56.50 lower than the price three months ago. LS380 moved up for the first time since November 22, 2012 gaining $6.00 to $708.50 making the premium for the ECA compliant fuel $93.00 pmt. MGO fell $15.00 to $1017.00 pmt, $34.50 lower than last Thursday.
Vancouver IFO380 slipped $6.00 to $641.50 pmt, losing $1.50 week-on-week, and rising $10.50 from the price on November 6, 2012. LS380 dropped $3.50 to $903.00, down $10.00 from last week, and making the premium for the low sulfur product $261.50 pmt. MGO fell $3.00 to $1087.00 pmt, up $5.50 on last Thursday, and $0.50 higher than the price a month ago.
