OceanConnect Marine Launches New Hong Kong Office with Former Bomin Traders
OceanConnect Marine (OCM) today has announced the launch of a new Hong Kong office with three traders and an operations specialist who were all previously part of the Bomin Group.
"We are pleased to continue our expansion with the addition of a highly professional team of traders with deep experience covering supply and customers in Asia. As our team grows so does our level of service and our ability to deliver customer satisfaction anytime, anywhere," said OCM Managing Director SI Shim.
The new office is led by Susanna Lai, the former managing director of Bomin's operation in Hong Kong, who is joined by traders Larry Fu and Anthony Ng, and operations specialist Tracy Yuen.
As Ship & Bunker previously reported, Bomin Group announced the closure of its Hong Kong office in August as part of its plans to focus on a regional hub structure.

The new Hong Kong team’s business will include worldwide back to back bunker trading and lube oil trading.
In February OCM's Chief Commercial Officer Daniel Rose told Ship & Bunker that 2017 would be a year of change and growth for the company, and indeed the addition of a Hong Kong team is the latest in a string of expansion moves this year for OCM.
So far they have included the January launch of an Athens-based bunker trading operation, a modernisation programme within its UK Physical supply operations in June that included a new barge to grow its physical supply operation on the Thames, and most recently the hire earlier this month of former Integr8 and O.W. Bunker man Daniel Gruenwald at its Stamford office.
"We are expanding where we see strategic opportunities to better serve new and existing customers, and will continue to do so in the months ahead,” Shim said.
