Green technology firm Envision has supplied green ammonia to the world's first very large ammonia carrier (VLAC) fitted with dual-fuel ammonia propulsion.

The vessel, Terra Clove, is owned by Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) and was built by South Korea's HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, the firm said in an announcement on Tuesday.

Ship & Bunker had previously reported that the vessel was preparing to bunker green ammonia in Ulsan, South Korea.

The ammonia was produced at Envision's facility in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, which has an annual production capacity of 320,000 mt.

The supply follows Envision's first commercial green ammonia shipment in February, when it delivered fuel to LOTTE Fine Chemical in Ulsan.

LOTTE later supplied green ammonia at Ulsan.

Ammonia-fuelled oceangoing vessels are beginning to enter the global fleet, with companies such as Exmar and CMB.TECH already operating ammonia-fuelled ships.

Earlier this week, CMB.TECH’s ammonia-fuelled bulk carrier bunkered green ammonia at Port Hedland in Australia.
