Japan Sees Rise in Bonded Bunker Sales

Bonded bunker sales in Japan during the month of March were up 9.9 percent month on month to 2.1 million barrels (334,592 kl), according to information from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) reported by Platts.

The total was down 6.9 percent year over year.

Bonded marine diesel sales for March were up 3.3 percent month on month to 34,141 barrels (5,428 kl), but down 16.8 percent year on year.

The country recorded 178,403 barrels (28,364 kl) of the tax free fuel during the month, compared to no imports for the period in 2013.
