MXB, the joint venture between Matrix Marine Fuels Pte. Ltd., Singapore, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., has hailed what it says was the biggest stem for a bunkers only call at Kochi OPL, India.

The 3,240 metric tonne (mt) stem was said to have been delivered to a dry cargo vessel coming from Brazil enroute to Jaigarh port in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

"The entire operations was personally monitored and executed with seamless coordination of MXB with their JV partner BPCL. MXB is the only physical bunker supplier at Kochi port ensuring delivered supply to the vessels. The support, guidance and encouragement extended from Kochi port was exceptional," a spoksperson for MXB told Ship & Bunker.

"MXB and BPCL are thriving hard together to bring more laurels to Kochi port and to the India Bunkering in times to come."

In November 2015 Ship & Bunker reported that MXB had resumed physical bunkering at Kochi after completing a four month upgrade project on its facilities.
