Marine Tech Companies Join Forces

Norsk Analyse AS (Norsk Analyse), a provider of process and environmental analysis solutions, says it has acquired fellow Norwegian company Vimex AS (Vimex), a developer of marine industry products.

Norsk Analyse is in the process of introducing monitoring systems for marine emissions (ShipCEMS) to help ship owners ensure compliance with International Maritime Organisation (IMO) rules.

Vimex makes detection and measuring equipment that has been installed on more than 1,000 vessels, including gas detection systems, high level and overfill alarm systems, fuel monitoring equipment, and calibration systems for pressure and temperature measurements.

With the acquisition, Vimex will operate as a stand-alone subsidiary of Norsk Analyse, and the companies will pool their products to offer complete solutions for offshore and marine industries.

Norske Analyse's marine environment business includes solutions for engine performance, emissions, pollution control, oil spill detection, and other issues, according to its website.

The merged company will have 80 employees and an annual turnover of more than NOK 150  million ($25.7 million).
